Step 1
Choose the job before the heroes
Write down whether this march is for a field fight, a rally, gathering or another task. Check the troop and specialty tags in the hero reference, then read the actual skill conditions. A bonus restricted to gathering or a troop type is not a universal combat bonus.
Step 2
Read both commanders together
Use two different heroes. Inspect the conditions in their skills, including references to primary or secondary position, troop composition, damage type and triggering effects. Swap their order in the planner to keep the two configurations distinct. Atlas does not validate every combat interaction.
Step 3
Compare the upgrades you can use
Keep hero level, stars, promotion, skill variants, talent ranks, equipment and mounts explicit. A fully upgraded preview is not the same as your current account. SP previews assume the relevant hero is awakened; check the current kingdom unlock rules before spending resources.
Step 4
Change one thing at a time
Pin one complete build for comparison, then change a skill, talent allocation or equipment item. Read the bonus breakdown and its contributing items. These are configured catalogue bonuses, not simulated combat damage or a promise that one march will beat another.
Step 5
Keep a version you can explain
Name the build for its purpose, save it in your browser and export a backup. Share the build link with a teammate and include the assumptions that matter: troop composition, ownership, commander order and intended activity. Check the final result against the current game.
